It's amazing how a little weather can make the world around you go absolutely nuts.
I've spent the last three nights sleeping on a friend's floor, all the way across town where there was power and heat. From my safe little haven I kept track of other people I know running around in a panic because there were rolling blackouts across town, freezing temperatures, and busted pipes all over. Everything shut down. Everyone acted like the world was coming to an end and inadvertently managed to make things harder on the people who were trying to get us back on line. Mass hysteria is a strange thing.
And to the moron who thought it was a clever idea to pull the fire alarm at 12:51am on a night when it was maybe 10 degrees outside, I hope you get frostbite on some vital bodyparts.
